So, here's how to do it at home! Open your file in Adobe Reader. In the printer options that come up, you'll want to select POSTER and change the Tile Scale. I've found that 180% fits my posters on four pages. You can play with the percent to make it bigger or smaller. The dotted lines on the image below show you that this poster will print on four pages.
I don't like to cut all of the sides. I leave a few tabs of white so I can overlap the pages. I put double-sided tape or glue along the tab to attach the pages together.

Hole punch the corner and add a binder ring to keep all of the posters together. Aren't they just the cutest?!?!
